My
Twingo is named Smurf. My cousin baptised it with this
name. Why Smurf ? Well it is not so difficult, because
it is totally blue (for those who doesn't know what a Smurf is,
click here to see a small picture of a real Smurf).
Smurf is a Twingo Spring edition
(year of manufacture : 1995). It is equipped with the
"Comfort package", an open roof and a backspoiler.
It is my second Twingo. I bought the first
one (a smokegray one, year of manufacture : 1993) in September
1997. Tree months later, we came at our current Renault dealer
and the first car that caught my eye (and my husband's eye, by
the way he drives a Renault Megane Scenic) was Smurf.
Well, there I was in a very difficult position. Since I had my
first Twingo only for 3 months, there was no way that I could buy
Smurf. But anyway we decided to have a chat with one of
the salesmen (my husband pushed me to do so) and, believe it or
not, 1 week later (the day before Christmas) I was the very,
very, very proud owner of Smurf. Now, more than 1 year
later, I am still very proud of Smurf. Smurf is
a real "eyecather".
I mainly use Smurf to drive to my
work. For longer drives we use my husband's car, the Scenic
(which is also a fine car).
Bad things that happened to Smurf :
- Stolen antenna.
- Two flat tyres (because I drove over something - I still don't
know what it was - that was lying on the road). This was a very
frightening experience.
- A leacking roof (the repair costed me a lot of money).
- Someone has damaged the right side of Smurf while driving out
of the parkingspace next to Smurf. I only noticed this
today. The damage is not very big. You only notice it when you
look at it from a short distance. I will never know who is
responsible for this damage.
