I
bought my yellow Twingo brand new in June 1996 and used it eversince as
my everyday car for work, travels, shopping, fun and - occasionally - sex
:-) .
On the same day that I picked it up, my girlfriend and I went on a trip
to and through Portugal with it. The photo was taken the following morning,
at the coast near Bordeaux, France. A wonderful region, perfect weather
and... a mouthwatering Twingo ! After the two weeks Portugal-trip I had
my first 7'000 km on the counter. Now, in October 2005, the same digits
says 187'000 km...
I just love the space inside the Twingo (also in the front: I'm 1.95m tall),
the sliding backseat, the driving and the fact that it fits in almost every
parkingspace.
Things I don't like so much about my Twingo are the leaking roof (rear
lefthand corner), the loose windscreenwiper-handle and the broken off ventilation-knob.
These things just shouldn't happen on a quality car ! Also, I had this
strange sound coming from the front wheels several times. It came, stayed
and went, came back a thousand km later, went away again (stopping the
car for five minutes seemed to solve the problem)... Worst of all : nobody
could find the cause...
Due to these frustrations, I'm not sure if my next car is going to be a
Twingo again... The interior space and the roof are big, big +++, but even
the Fiat Panda 1000 FIRE, that I drove over 150,000 km with before I bought
this Twingo, was built better ! I didn't expect it from the Panda, but
I did from the Twingo.
Anybody recognize the troubles that I'm having with the Twingo ? Please
let me know !
