Serie 1 (1993-1994) :

April 1993

First sales of the Twingo, with a firm 53'900 French Francs price tag (US$ 10'780).
No optional equipment, one available engine and 4 colours : coral red (8% of sales), indian yellow (3%), coriander green (22%) and overseas blue (25%), plus a metal red, fog grey (brume), and black.
Tinted glass, modular back seat, cigarette lighter, LCD screen, rear fog and reverse lights and three speeds windscreen wipers.

An entire range of gadgets and accessories is offered at the same time: Bags, luggage, umbrellas, clocks, watches, pens, key chains, toys, candy, t-shirts, etc...

June 1993

First minor changes: Side protection bars in doors, and rear windscreen wiper.

The Twingo Wind (with air conditionned) appears in Spain.

By the end of 1993, 125'000 Twingo have been sold.
